Brisbane, the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast are close together โ the Gold Coast is about an hour south of Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast about an hour and a half north. Public transport across the region runs on the TransLink network (trains, buses, ferries and the Gold Coast's G:link light rail), and major upgrades like Cross River Rail and Brisbane Metro are on the way. Always check current timetables and fares with TransLink.
